More Busy School

Stayed home today...school, school, and more school...

Lana left to take care of registration and inspection on her car...

Bonnie came by to get their cookie order form, because I was going to give to them on Monday...we spent too long talking about stuff...

Nick picked up steaks, and we had that and baked potatoes and salad for dinner. We played a game of Qwirkle, and I barely beat Brittany by 1 point. Lana was very close behind.

I have spent all this time catching up on this blog...no more getting behind!

Busy School Day

Busy with school...getting lots more done...

Took Lana up to State Farm so she could take care of getting insurance...I went and picked up my shoes that were in at Payless...I saw a couple more, but I hadn't printed the 20% off coupon...they put on hold. Lana got lots of goodies from State Farm...

Joey is still giving her a hard time...growling and barking...

I made beef stew in crock-pot in the morning...it was a big hit for dinner!

I had to go to Day Camp staff meeting...stopped by and got my other 2 pair of shoes! I have an addiction!

Vet and Airport

Busy day...

We took Joey to the vet...close by the house...they were very nice, and he did very well...He got his heartworm treatment medicine...they weighed him and checked him all out...everything seems good...

He did not want to take his medicine from me...finally had to hold him and just put it in until it didn't come back up!

Cleaning and straightening and then off to the airport...picking mother-in-law up...she has escaped from Ohio! :)

We were all hungry; so, we stopped at Chinese buffet on Westheimer, before getting home. It was a super good buffet! Wow!

Joey gave her a hard time...I don't know why...

We weren't too hungry for dinner; so, we settled for grilled cheese sandwiches...watched a new Modern Family...too funny!

By the way...Joey likes the kids little stuffed animals...he carries them around in his mouth...

Anniversary Winds Down

The morning consisted of a free breakfast as part of our special at Hotel Derek...it was yummy...we were the only ones in there, but who cares...we headed home, instead of doing anything else...Nick was ready to check on Joey...

Joey had done pretty good...he slept with Brittany...mom seemed tired and after we watched a few Disney channel shows, she headed home. We used the awesome Target gift card that Eddie gave us for Christmas, getting Joey little bed, food bowls of his own, treats, toothbrush/paste, shampoo, and some other things...He later used his bed...

Later...fun in the classroom--worked on Cub Scout plans...worked on lesson plans...

17th Wedding Anniversary

Another anniversary...another good time!

We packed for our night away...headed to Alamo Draft House to watch The Tourist, where we shared a sandwich and fries...the movie was ok...off to Hotel Derek...pit stop at Target, to do a little shopping...the Hotel was sooooo nice! It has special memories for me...first time "meeting" Duran Duran.

For dinner we went on our first visit to The Melting Pot. The cheese was very good, but the entrée part was a little more difficult...I was not into the meat and veggie cooking. Nick would just throw things all in, and I was getting a little frustrated. Some things started to over-cook, and I think for the price, I'd rather they just cook my entrée! The chocolate dessert--the BEST part! That I could have just had double of and skipped the meat! :) It was a nice dinner, and I'm glad we tried it. We were thirsty and decided to run to McDonald's to get drinks before going back to hotel...loved to view in our room too!

New Year's Eve 2010

First thing--Nick and I are off to the gym to do our Body Pump class...ugh, Brian is helping her with the class. It was soooo crowded too! Then, we cleaned up and headed to Special Pals, and what do you know--someone is pending adoption on the dog...not happy...they hardly have any left either! So, we leave, and we got lunch at Subway and went to check out CAP...which is moving; so, they really had like 5 dogs...there was one over at our PetsMart. We decide to stop by there. After a good visit, we fell in love with Joey! He is a chihuahua Mix (confirmed by vet to be Min Pin--she says more than the chihuahua). We paid (cheaper than the other--only $60) and adopted right there...taking him home on New Year's Eve! :) He was soooo quiet. Of course, he gave his first bark when mom came and rang the door bell. He does bark!

So, after cleaning and getting the food going--chili sauce-grape jelly meatballs, egg rolls, bbq wings, pizza rolls, chips and salsa, veggies/dip, fruit, chips, crackers, and candy...oh, and all the drink selections...we were ready...People were canceling out on us...:( But, Darlene/Mark and kids came, Marlene (all sicky) came, Julie came over--even though Robert had people there...They brought some yummies too--homemade fudge, awesome croissant and chicken salad ring, cheese/crackers/sausage tray...Oh, and mom brought some awesome Chick-fil-a nuggets tray and brownie tray. The boys all played together...we did fireworks...watched the countdown...had the midnight champagne toast...all good fun! :)
