Shopping Fun

So, the kids wanted out of the house...I agreed! We did some cleaning. We showered and changed. We went for some late Chinese buffet lunch. It was yummy! We went to the mall. I returned the wine rack that mom got me. I exchanged the Old Navy tee I had. Kim VanDevender was there, along with her kids. We were back at Bed, Bath, and Beyond to use my store credit...I got a 4-pack of martini glasses, a 4-pack of margarita glasses, and this cool pastry mat.

Later, Nick and I hit Wal-Mart for some New Year's Eve party shopping. He is being too lazy about the bbq wings...he won't make himself; so, we'll go tomorrow to get premaid Tyson ones at Sam's, which means that I am also going to get some mini-egg rolls!

Rainy Day

Very rainy, boring day. Didn't do much. Thought about going and having lunch with Nick, but it's too rainy. Nick and Simon were on the Today show...interview was just too short! Can't wait for the tour!

Getting ready for New Year's Eve Party! 2 more days!

Clearance Shopping

Well, woke up late; so, I was rushing to get to Vicki's Body Pump class...then a phone call from Special Pals...about adopting Lord Chubby Prune Face...they ended up asking if everyone, including mother-in-law had seen him and agreed. I said that she was out of town and wouldn't be back until next Wednesday. She would need to agree, and they couldn't keep the Adoption Pending that long. We could try to come back Friday and if there wasn't a new Adoption Pending, then we could wait for her to come see. So...thought that was weird...not happy about it...made me late...didn't want to go to class late; so, I went to Target and Wal-Mart checking out clearance...got some stuff and headed home, with lunch for us all.

I also had fun shopping on-line...Kohl's and Payless...discount coupons and $10 reward bucks are great!

Too Much Resting

I was kinda lazy today, but that's ok. I watched a lot of my recorded tv shows. We tried to go bowling at Times Square, but there was a hour and a half wait. We just picked up Papa John's and headed home. Tomorrow I'm going to be more productive!

Twas the Day AFTER Christmas

So, we missed church...feel bad about it, cause we're going to miss next Sunday too. We continued trying to clean and also play with new stuff. We made waffles with the waffle maker, sandwiches with the sandwich maker, and logged on to the EA Sports Active game to set up our workout schedule and make our "person". In the late afternoon, mom and Tommie and the kids came over. We exchanged gifts. I got the digital key chain. Brittany got 3 Zhu-zhu pets, and Austin got 2 Bionicles, which he quickly put together. Tommie opened the picture frame and jewelry, Tiffany opened the purse and jewelry, Ray opened the bag full of jewelry, Chance opened the yugi-yoh cards and Target gift card, and Kori opened the 3 Webkinz set. Tommie, Tiffany, Brittany and I watched Tiffany's movie, Remember Me, starring Robert Pattinson. Austin, Chance, Ray, and Kori played PS3 and put together one of Austin's lego sets. We ate some baked potatoes with bbq chicken and chicken nuggets for dinner.

CHRISTmas Day 2010

(more pics on facebook...all photos are just a sample of our Christmas fun!)
Christmas 2010 was wonderful! The kids got everything on their list and then some. Of course, we're still waiting on the dog. We started about 8, with Austin coming downstairs to our room first. We told him to get Brittany up. Mom will still on her way. She thought he'd still be in bed! Stocking were first. Of course, Austin already saw the unwrapped video rocker and panda pillow pet. Brittany already saw the electronic keyboard and unicorn pillow pet. Brittany wanted to take her time and be super neat about cleaning and putting things away. Austin wanted to just plow threw it all, sometimes opening a present out of it's packaging to play with. He put his new robe on right after opening it. Brittany was obviously the last to finish. Her plan to be super neat and go and put things away did not work out. Here's the list of what they got: Austin--video rocker, panda pillow pet, Lego sets, Lego Creationary game, Air Hogs helicopter, Blizzard maker, 4 Webkinz, Tech Decks and ramp, Toy Story 3 and Skrek 4 Blu-Ray/DVD, Now 36 CD, Hot Wheels Stealth ride, Glee card came, Puppies Calendar, Electronic drum set, and new clothes (including robe and slippers)...Brittany: Electronic keyboard w/stand, unicorn pillow pet, 3 new CDs, teen magazines, book sets, hair straightener and matching travel organizer, zebra snuggie, Twilight trilogy scene it, Twilight calendar, IPOD dock alarm clock radio, Webkinz mazin hamster, and lots of new clothes (including dress up clothes). Nana got Austin a marshmallow shooter, Brittany a gumball machine and a white purse, and she got the family the u-draw for Wii with the Pictionary game. Grandma got Austin 2 large Lego sets, Brittany a sleep shirt and cash, Nick his electric razor, and me a wine rack and bar blender. Nick got new clothes, including jeans and nice shirts, laptop battery, cell phone case, flip flops, Infamous video game, EA Sports Active 2 for PS3 (for the whole family). I got a metal wine rack, flip waffle maker, sandwich maker, new clothes (including nice dress shoes), and camping cot--well, Nick got one too!

In the late afternoon, we headed to Bob and Carolina's for dinner and gift exchange. We gave Sophia a cute dress and a play tent w/tunnel. They gave Austin a Star Wars Lego set, which he had to put together before eating, with the help of Uncle Eddie. They gave Brittany a top/bottom outfit. We enjoyed a dinner of prime rib, ham, salad, potato salad, rolls, cake, and creme puffs. We watched Toy Story 3 together before heading home.

The kids and Nick stayed up playing with their toys, but I crashed! :)

Christmas Eve 2010

(more pics on Facebook)
As I sit here waiting for Austin to go to sleep...and maybe Brittany too...I am getting very excited for tomorrow morning!

Today, I got up early and finished wrapping Santa presents. Nick and I went to Body Pump at the other gym. Then, we had some lunch and got ready for church. I went early for the 3:00 service, to help with Hospitality...cookies, cocoa, coffee, water... Then, Nick and the kids came all spiffy and ready to join me. It was a great service, but it was a little weird having it still light out when we left (we usually go to the 5 p.m.) Then, the "warm, melting snow" started, aka rain. There was even lightening. We had our rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, and cheese/pasta/broccoli for dinner. then, the kids decided to open their 1 Christmas Eve present. It has become tradition that they open their gift from each other. Austin got Brittany a soda-flavor pack of Lip Smackers. He wanted the root beer one, and she gave him the Sprite one also! He also gave her a Christmasy-bouncy ball, to add to her bouncy ball collection. Brittany got Austin a cool sharks-tooth necklace and some Sour Patch Kids. The candy didn't make it past the night! The Klawitters came and joined us for a little while. I whipped up some gingerbread cookie and sugar cookie dough. We rolled out and cut the cookies and baked them. Everyone enjoyed decorating too! Abby brought Austin a present, and I was lucky to have a pack of nail polish and a pack of lip balms stocked up that I wrapped up for her. After they headed home, we watched Disney's A Christmas Carol from last year. It was a little weird and spooky and sometimes hard to follow. After setting out the cookies and taking the yearly photos, Nick read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, mostly to Austin. Brittany is just getting too grown up for some of these things.

Anyways, I'm charging the camera and waiting to go play Santa with Nick...Merry Christmas everyone! Happy Birthday, Jesus!!!

Better Day

Nick was off today. He went with us to Katy Mills. Austin is the only one this year to see and take picture with Santa. That's what happens when your kids grow up...:( The line was good. We got there about 9:45, and Santa showed up at 10. We were like the 5th one. We walked the mall, and then went to see Tangled together. It was pretty good! I was so surprised! I actually had tears and laughed! We then went to Whataburger to get our free Whataburgers. We made a stop at Super Target, and then headed home.

They called to ask us some questions regarding adopting the doggie at Special Pals. We don't know what's the hold-up. Ugh.

They called and said the shoes I ordered had arrived at Payless; so, I had to go pick them up! And look around with my 20% off coupon. They had marked some little purses--silver and black down to $3. So, I had to get one of each and some $9 black flats...$12 total! :)

Finally, bought some stuff at Sam's and Wal-Mart...somehow made it out alive...think we're ready for Christmas meals. We're going to go over to Bob's this year. Mom is most likely going to just join us Christmas morning, instead of spending the night.

I managed to get almost all the Santa presents wrapped...finishing in the morning!

Bummed

Well, we tried to go to Memorial City Mall and see Tangled's first show and then Santa. The parking situation was horrible...finally got a spot...already a little late for the show. When we get there, they are sold out for the show. So, let's go try Santa...yeah, looooooooooooooong line! So, we decided to try again tomorrow at Katy Mills. We had lunch at Berryhills, and then headed home. We did a little bit of school and some cleaning...like lots of laundry.

Oh, so enjoying the new Duran Duran cd...it hit top of lots of Pop iTunes album lists. It is number 2 on overall albums! Yay, can't wait for the tour!

Nick took my birthday present out of the car--IKEA dresser that I have forever wanted! He didn't go to bed until it was all put together!

Christmas Shopping D U N!

Up to torture myself at Body Pump, but Vicki does a good job, and I really do feel it, which everyone says is a good thing. Ran some shopping errands...completed all the Christmas shopping! Then, after we had lunch, we did some schoolwork...still got behind with Austin's...

Enjoying listening to Duran Duran's new songs!!!

Nick ran errands of shopping after work, namely IKEA, for a certain dresser. Then, we went to get our free cinnamon rolls at Whataburger...ate some dinner there too. Those cinnamon rolls are big! We played Pictionary on the new Wii uDraw that Lana got the family as a gift. Brittany and I won in a close game.

This red wine has been yummy and makes me feel good...now, I want to go to bed earlier than I normally do. Had thought of going to the movies and Santa tomorrow, but Nick told me he's off Thursday. So, we may wait to all go together.

Just Another Monday

Well, did a few things around the house...did some school...we missed more than I would like between Thanksgiving and now, not counting the cruise...

Had a Cub Scout committee meeting...went faster than normal...Nick made breakfast tacos for dinner...we watched some Christmas-cartoon shows and then Elf...

I stayed up until after midnight...got myself a Birthday present--downloaded Duran Duran's newest album, only available on itunes until February...woke up in the middle of the night to see the lunar eclipse, but it was too cloudy to see any moon...

Birthday Weekend--Sunday

We were late for church...of course...off to Sam's afterwards...of course!

We also went by Petsmart...checking stuff out mostly...Nick got some food for the hermit crabs he brought home last Thursday. They had belonged to a co-worker/friend. We also got a toy for our hopefully-to-be doggie.

The kids have a hard time agreeing on a name. Austin wanted Max, and Brittany wanted Coconut. I told them to make lists and find one that they agreed on. Brittany made a list of top 5, and when Austin checked it out, he liked Teddy (or Theodore for the fancy version). So, we wait to hear back about getting our Teddy Doggie to come home.

Got the Christmas cards mailed! Nick went with me to the stores...we even had a little date at Whataburger over free shakes and a chicken strip kids meal.

We watched the finale of Survivor...I was finally happy with a winner...last 2 seasons I was not--Russell got robbed those 2! I also got lots of presents wrapped, but I have more to go...like all the Santa ones! Also, still need to get something else for mom and for Nick's stocking.

Birthday Weekend--Saturday

Spent the morning at the gym--Body Pump, with Vicki teaching...did a little bit of Zumba.

After having leftovers of my birthday dinner for lunch, we showered and changed and were off to Special Pals. We checked out the dogs there. We finally came down to one that they have named "Lord Chubby Prune Face". We filled out adoption papers for him, and we are now waiting on a call. We stopped by for a little bit at Dan and Jenifer's Grinch party, and then we did a quick stop at Target. I'm now working on getting these Christmas cards addressed and in the mail!

39th Birthday

Well, I decided to start a day-by-day blog of my year up to 40.

My 39th Birthday was not to eventful. I actually started off the night before at TGI Fridays with friends...Stephanie, Tami, Brandi, and Cherish. I had a coupon for a free dessert, which also meant I was getting sung to. Stephanie actually got me a present--a Mickey-shaped red chip/dip bowl.

On my birthday I spent it relaxing, watching tv, and then I ran some Christmas shopping errands. I picked up McDonald's, for a McRib of course, for the kids and I to have lunch. I did some cleaning and waited for Nick and my mom to come. Nick came home with flowers, and then we all headed to my favorite restaurant Taste of Texas. There was certainly a wait, but they have complimentary soda and chips/salsa and popcorn. The food was wonderful, of course! I love their salad bar and breads. I chose my free dessert, Slice of Heaven (white and dark chocolate cake), and they took my picture. At home, we had 2 cakes, because Nick and my mom bought one. We used the round one for all 39 candles to go on. My mom got my a Winnie the Pooh "Hunny" snow globe. It was a nice birthday, even if I did spend the day fighting a migraine headache!

Now, the countdown is on to 40!
